Semiahmoo Family Place began in 1991 after a group of new mothers recognized the need for parenting support in the community. Starting off as an entirely volunteer-driven organization, SFP now has regular staff and an active Board of Directors.

In September 2011, SFP found its home in the restored heritage building of Kensington Prairie Community Centre. Semiahmoo Family Place endeavours to provide a safe and engaging environment for children and their caregivers.
